About Damn Yankee... Damn Yankee is a Farr 60 built in 1998 by Carroll Marine. She was originally named Deep Powder and raced out of Chicago. She has had several names since then, including Prospector when she raced in the TransAtlantic, Middle Sea Race and the Caribbean 600 and recently she was known as Thunderstruck. This is the third of the Damn Yankee Yachts to receive the name. It is her second Bayview under present ownership. The crew has been making the trek from Buffalo New York since 2008 on DY1 and DY2. They are looking forward to continuing our journey with DY 3.
