About Sirocco... This is Team Sirocco's 5th time competing in the Bayview Mac Race. Sirocco is a real family boat with two father and son pairs, a father/daughter pair, and a pair of identical twins on board! What's more, two of the fathers are brothers(Patrick & Larry), and so two of the father's children (Mary & Jim) are first cousins. The skipper Bob Klairmont grew up sailing with his mother and father and has sailed all of his life. Bob did his first Chicago Mac race in 1972 with his parents aboard the yacht Elaine May. Since then Bob has done 23 Chicago Mac races, two Trans Superior races, 4 Bayview Mac Races, one Barthel Tri-Lakes Challenge, 23 Queen's Cup races, 4 Hundred Miler races, one The Hook race, several SORC races (in the 1970's), hundreds of buoy races, hundreds of boat deliveries on the water to and from races and lots of cruising and more. Bob, Patrick, and Larry are thrilled to be sailing with their sons & daughters on this great race!
