Comments: Hello, looking for a boat for a mack race. This will most likely be my"offshore" event. I am looking at doing some longer events here in the PNW (PNW offshore & Swiftsure) and some of the California races. I'm a recently graduated college sailor with lots of dinghy experience and keel boats around the buoys. I have my safety at sea (good for 5 years). Would love to talk more about your team!

Comments: I regularly race on a Trip 33 where I run both the foredeck and mast in most races due to crew issues and I succeed in both positions even under heavy pressure. On the Tripp 33 we race Tuesday nights and the Red Fox Regatta. I also have some bigger boat experience on EPIC out of Bayview Yacht Club. On EPIC I raced the Helly Hansen Sailing World Regatta Series in Detroit and the Bayview to Mackinac race. During both races I learned a lot about bigger boat racing. I would love to talk to any boat that needs help with crew for the race.

Comments: Hello sailing friends! Due to changes in rating for my Mac crew (Courage, GLYC) and my low seniority on my crew, I am in search of a Mac boat for the 2026 sailing season! Please note that I love my crew and will return to them once I am able to, so this is a one season only opportunity (ideally). If you are also doing the Chicago Mac I would love for this year to be my first Chicago so please reach out if you are looking for Chicago crew as well.
I started sailing in 2021 as a pandemic hobby and have done 4 Bayview Mac races.
2021 - PepperLove - Pickle Boat
2023 - Courage - 1st in Class
2024 - Courage - 12th in Class
2025 - Courage - 2nd in Class
In addition to my Mac experience I have raced with numerous crews in DRYA and ILYA races and regattas throughout the region. Here are a few:
WYC Wednesdays - 2021, 2022 (Epic, Bayview Yacht Club; Merak, Cresent Sail Yacht Club)
LSSC Wednesdays - 2023, 2024, 2025 (Courage)
ILYA Summer Bay, 2022, 2023, Put-In-Bay, Ohio (Reflex, Family Truckster, Go Baby, all out of Grosse Isle Yacht Club)
Hitchhiker Thursdays - Bayview Yacht Club (Fast Tango)
Mills Race - 2023, 2024 (Family Truckster, Gross Isle Yacht Club
Helly Hansen Regatta Detroit - Epic, 2023
DRYA Races - Epic(2021, 2022) Merak (ad-hoc as needed), Courage (2023-2025)
I have done this all while working a very intense corporate job and while completing my MBA. I left corporate in April of last year and own two small businesses, and completed my MBA in November of 2025. I also obtained a free sailboat in 2024 and will be restoring it this year and prepping it for local racing. My boat is a 1971 Seafarer Meridian and it is stored at Bayview Yacht Club, where I have been a member since July 2024.
If I can do all of that while in grad school, imagine how much I will grow in my sailing experience now that I have more time and energy to devote to sailing! :)
Also, I'm an artist and so one soft skill I have is that I can pretty much get along with anyone. I would be an excellent culture fit to any crew, especially a group of sailors who likes to work hard and play hard. I've worked in tech for 20+ years so I'm used to being the only woman on crew.
I'm 5'2" 120 lbs so I'm little and fast. Additionally, I learn very quickly and I do not have an ego that makes me think I already know everything there is to know about sailing (I sure as hell don't).
I've also done extensive mental training for long-distance racing. I hiked the Grand Canyon from Rim to Rim to Rim (R2R2R) in 2021 with an organization called Climb for Hope. We raised $55K for breast cancer and MS research. I've also hiked Rainbow Mountain in Peru, run 3 half marathons, 24+ 5Ks, 10Ks, 8Ks, etc. and will be summiting Everest Base camp in Fall of 2026. So I'm already in intense training mode and will only be increasing my strength and muscle mass this summer.
If you've gotten this far, thank you for reading (I can be a bit long winded LOL). I will be selecting the most competitive crew that I feel is a good fit for my personality and skillset and who I can learn the most from, so please do not hesitate to reach out. I am more than happy to earn my spot but I will be evaluating each skipper and crew on my own set criteria.
Please do not reach out if you are looking for rail meat or a pretty face on your crew. While I am a pretty face, I have brains and skills that I would love to add to your crew!
Look forward to hearing from you.
Cheers,
Lacy
